love your body

Nothing bad to report just living life and enjoying the sunshine. I started playing soccer on an outdoor league with one of my old teammates named Lauren Ryan. It is so fun to be able to get to play with her again, since I still wish I could rewind my life and get to play all 4 years at Idaho State. I was talking with Ryan and just reminiscing on the good ol' days. We both kinda got emotional and how crazy how far I have come since 3 years ago. I am in aahh myself to think about how I was when I first started this journey and sharing my story with you guys. I remember right after my LVAD (left ventricle assistance device) surgery and go for a walk around my parents block with my mom. I had to stopped 3 to 4 times because I was so weak and now my mom can barely keep up with me :) just kidding mom I love you! It gives me chills just thinking about it. Going from not being able to do anything without help to being able to push myself to my own limits is invigorating. To just be out on...

annual exam #3

All good news at my annual exam this past weekend. I got to see my surgeon, doctor and my ICU nurses. My procedure to check my ticker went well with no struggles and my recovery has been blissful. I really enjoyed see everyone because they are basically my 2nd family that I love so much. No changes just keep doing me and remember my medications to keep trucking along. One of my doctors told me that heart rejection is extremely rare if I don't forget my medications and another doctor said to not test my celiacs due to it may affect the absorption of my medications. So with that said I am definitely going to avoid all gluten and never miss my meds. Roger? I got to see my brother's baby Tygen. He is a adorable peanut that grunts majority of the time. My mom and I were watching him while my brother and Danielle his wife went to a wedding. We just fed him and my mom said he just pooped, so I offered to change him. As I finish cleaning him up, he decides he isn't quit done and ...

happy almost 3 years from the deep south

I can now say that I have been to the deep south. We went to visit my in-laws in South Carolina for a week. I though the east coast was going to be a different land, but it was very similar to the West coast. We saw a few historical sites and Lisa my mother in-law told us pretty much all the rest. We got everyone in Steve's family. We met Matt, Kenzi and the boys in St. Augustine. It was great to see everyone and to spend time with each and everyone. We went to the beach, ran around, played games with the kiddos, walked around Fort St. Augustine, hit up downtown and enjoyed being all together. Through all the fun we have been having we have been finishing up our application to adopt and have signed up for the training program in June. This process has been great with no struggle thus far. My hopes for the future is bright. I have dedicated myself to be on my mat each morning and if I don't my day feels off. My understanding of mobility has increased over this past year. Eve...

is it spring or winter?

My 28th birthday was pretty darn fun. My best friend Scottie came up from Salt Lake to hang out at our new place. She had never been to Boise, so we showed her around and let her in on our spots to grub up. It was really good to see Scottie and never realized how much I actually missed her. We got our nails done, saw the Greatest Showman, ate good food and finished it off with dancing at Humping Hannah's downtown. I sure am getting up there in age, but I just reminded myself of my resolution of being in the present. About 2 weeks ago I started doing yoga in the morning for about 20-30mins and setting an intention before I start my flow. By setting an intention allows me to start my day off right and makes me happy. Each day I notice something different because it is a new day.  My gratitude for my body has intensified as well for my ability to hold/transition throw the poses. Some day my balance is on point and others I am completely worthless, but each t...

2018

I hope everyone had a wonderful holidays and your New Year is going great. Steve and I went to my parents for Thanksgiving with my brother and new wife Danielle and her kids. We had fun playing games and watching football. We stayed here in Boise for Christmas and it was the first year we have spent it with just each other. I was nervous at first, but it ended up being a Christmas that I won't forget. We made some fun family traditions, went skiing on Christmas day with some friends and of course opened presents. My parents came up for New Year's. We went skiing and had fun at the famous potato drop New Year's Eve night. It was great having them up here to show them more of the town. I had a doctors appointment in Decemeber and all is good with my echo and allomap . I am going to my annual in March, marking my 3 years with my new ticker. It is crazy to go back to the pictures that my family took 3 years ago. When I look at those pictures it doesn't seem like that was ...

on the go kinda month

I know it has been a whole entire month since I have posted anything and let me tell you it has been non-stop. My brother got married, we went to spread my grandpa's ashes in Pueblo, my mother in-law and grandma came into town over Halloween, we got ourself a house and we are still unpacking, but most of it is done. So first I want to give a shout out to my brother really pulling the trigger to get married and his wife Danielle is a very nice girl and is going to fit into our crazy family just great. It was a lot of fun because I was able to hang out with my bestie Scottie and we met up with another one of our good friend Jess for breakfast. The day of the wedding the weather said that it was going to be cold and the ceremony was outside, but it all ended up great without anyone freezing. I am so proud of my brother and I wish him nothing but pure happiness. Brother  Mother  Hubby  Scottie The whole family  The weekend after...

say hello to FALL

If you saw my instagram  page you know that Steve and I ran the Fit One half. I was a lot of fun running with Steve, rather than my lonesome self. We ran and walked, by the 10th mile I tired, but kept going and got myself a personal record. I believe it was all Steve pacing me while we ran. My parents got a Tesla for 24 hours so they decided to come up to say hi to us the first weekend in October. We had a fun time showing them the town. My mom has been up prior, but it was my dad's first time coming to see us. We hiked half way up to Table Rock until the boys decided to turn back. My mom, Wrigley and I kept going and we made it all the way. I never knew that Table Rock was at the bottom of the Idaho Lake forever ago. After our hike we went to meet up with Kate, Matt and Boggs for breakfast at the Griddle. We all had a good time chatting about how we like being in Boise. The same weekend my parents came into town was Conference. I absolutely love how a few of the ...
