sometimes it's okay to ask

I received a letter from my donor's father last week, but forgot to tell you guys. It is so great to hear from him and to exchange words. He expressed that it was hard for him at the year mark of his daughters passing, but he is very thankful that her organs could change and save so many other women across the western area. He was talking about all the good stuff he had been cooking as I tried not to salivate on the paper.  I am glad that we can express our words to each other through letter and I hope we can continue to do so. Went to go see my doctor's at the beginning of the week. I didn't have any concerns expect if I could donate blood. I had 4+ I think blood transfusions when I was in the hospital and now understand the importance to donate blood. Before the many hospital stays I said I worked hard for my blood and I am keeping it all. Now it is a no brainer. Since I am a year out they told me I could and since I am so used to being a pin cushion, what the heck. My n

1st flight

First off I would like to apologize for not posting last Sunday, as you can tell from the title of my post I was no where near my laptop. Steve and I went to Texas for the first time. This flight wasn't just like any usual flight for me because I was able to go through the metal detector without security padding me down everywhere. It was a breeze going through security this time. For me it is weird not to tell the security person I have a pacemaker. To think that there are no metal or devices within my body, helping me to keep going amazes me. We met Steve parents, older brother, his wife and their kiddos in Texas. We flew into Dallas and Steve's parents picked us up at the airport. We then met everyone in Waco to visit Magnolia the Silos from the Fixer Upper show on HGTV. Steve and his dad are a little obsessed with the show. The place was a zoo. People every which way, lines all around and way too chaotic. It was fun seeing the silos, what Chip and Joanna did to it, the tow

summer is here

This week flew right by because of the holiday at the beginning of the week. I absolutely love this season. It is hot, but I don't mind one bit because all I have to do is go outside and just take a look at the beautiful scenery. Love to go outside and listening to everything going on around me. I spoke to the Donor Services about my donor's father because I have been thinking about him a lot lately. I haven't heard back from him since my half marathon. The Donor Services told me that he is doing well and also he was on his way to the mailbox to drop off a letter. I am excited to receive his letter. Speaking of half marathons I am planning on doing another one and also my mom and I are signed up for a bike ride called the Wildflower Pedalfest in August. This time I have gotten myself a real bike just myself powering the bike. No more batteries. When I am riding it feels amazing to be on a bike that I am pedaling by myself. My donor heart opens my eyes, shakes my bones and
